Create a Winter Weather Emergency Kit for Your Car
If this latest storm is any indication, we’re only just starting winter here in Epping. Unfortunately, that means more frigid temperatures and snowy winter weather.
We here at Hurlbert Toyota want to make sure you’re prepared should you find yourself stranded on the side of the road. Here is a list of items to put in a winter weather emergency kit in your car to help you survive until help arrives.
- Warm Blanket
- Extra Clothes (including gloves, scarves, socks, etc.)
- Hand Warmers
- Non-Perishable Food Items (like crackers, peanut butter, trail mix, etc.)
- Bottled Water
- Flashlight and Batteries
- Windshield Wiper Fluid
- Jumper Cables (to help you or another stranded motorist)
- Retractable Shovel
- Ice Scraper
- Ice Grips for Shoes
- First Aid Kit
Other items to consider are kitty litter or sand, an LED strobe light, candles and matches, an emergency whistle, and an emergency car care guide.
