At last year’s Geneva Motor Show, Toyota unveiled a revolutionary three-wheeled city car, the i-Road. You may remember seeing it in a somewhat mesmerizing video where the small vehicles sashayed through the French Riviera streets.
Now, those little cars (can we call it a car?) are hitting the roads in Tokyo. Toyota has officially started a road test program that lasts until June. There will be a total of 10 i-Roads out for testing with 20 drivers. While some of the drivers are auto experts, others will be regular people.
Here at Hurlbert Toyota, we’re very interested to see how these tests go. The i-Road sure looks like it’s a lot of fun to drive once you get over the “I’m going to fall over and die” sensation. While we don’t think the i-Road will ever be sold here in the U.S., it would probably be a great fit in the narrow streets of Asia and Europe.
What do you think? Would you ever consider driving the Toytoa i-Road if you were in the market for a small city car?
