Toyota Supra Spy Shots

Toyota Spy Shots

Enthusiasts everywhere have been chomping at the bit to get their hands on the brand-new, upcoming Toyota Supra, the result of a partnership between Toyota and famed performance brand BMW. However, until now, information has been limited, with only foggy glimpses of camouflaged test cars giving fans and experts alike a closer look at the vehicle. However, recent Toyota Supra spy shots have given enthusiasts their clearest and most comprehensive look at the revived nameplate yet.

A photographer over at AutoBlog managed to nab a shot of the still camouflaged, but much more visible Supra parked at a fueling station. Design elements easily seen in the photos include a clamshell hood with two large air intakes on a smooth, pointed grille. Most of the design is exclusive to the Supra as well, though styling cues have been taken from the Z5. Experts speculate that the hood is hiding a six-cylinder turbocharged engine.

It’s likely that some elements of the Supra’s design as depicted in the Toyota Supra spy shots will be smoothed out and changed before it comes out for the 2019 model year, but this is the latest that we know at the moment.

Make sure you head to Hurlbert Toyota to get your hands on it as soon as it comes out!

For many car shoppers, safety is a top priority. And, with so much advanced technology, cars are safer than ever. That is why the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) scores individual models on numerous safety attributes to help discerning shopper find the best of the best.

The IIHS has two levels of safety awards: Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+. To earn the Top Safety Pick accolade, a vehicle has to achieve the top Good rating in all crash tests. In addition, it has to earn an Advanced or Superior rating for front crash prevention technology.

Toyota’s Top Safety Picks this year include the Toyota Yaris iA and Avalon.

To earn a Top Safety Pick+ rating, a vehicle also has to achieve a Good or Acceptable rating for its headlights. This year, Toyota brought home five Top Safety Pick+ honors. These models include the Toyota Prius v, Camry, RAV4, Prius, and Corolla.

Ever since the IIHS introduced its Top Safety Pick awards in 2006, Toyota has worked hard to make sure as many of its models are eligible for this award as it can. The Top Safety Pick+ designation was introduced in 2013 to give the best of the best their own category.

Come check out all of these excellent and safe Toyota models today at Hurlbert Toyota.

It’s no secret that Volkswagen sold the most vehicles between January and June of 2016, narrowly knocking Toyota out of the top spot. Fortunately the Japanese automaker still have some fight left in the form of the Toyota Corolla. Put simply, the Toyota Corolla is the world’s bestselling car for the 2016 model year.

Reports state that the 2016 Toyota Corolla sold more than 634,000 units over the first six months of the year. That number is actually down 1.2% from the previous sales, but the Corolla outpaced its closest competitors by a long shot.

World’s Bestselling Car - 2017 Toyota Corolla - blue, couple walking away

The Volkswagen Golf found itself in second place with just over 500,000 units sold during the first six months of the year. That large gap is followed by the Ford F-Series pickup trucks with over 478,000 units sold.

Ford also nabbed fourth place with the Ford Focus with 367,479 units sold. Finally, the Hyundai Elantra closed out the top five with over 363,000 units sold.

The Corolla wasn’t the only model to make the Top 10, though. The Camry came in eighth with 339,611 units sold. The Toyota RAV4 moved up from 10th place in 2015 to 7th place in 2016 with 346,791 units sold compared to just under 313,000 units, nearly an 11% increase, in the previous sales period.

The Toyota Corolla remains popular among drivers thanks to its attractive design, peppy engine, upscale interior, and high fuel economy.

We here at Hurlbert Toyota couldn’t be happier to see the Toyota Corolla holding its best-selling title for the 2016 model year!

2016 Toyota Mirai - human waste into fuel - hydrogen powered

When it comes to fuel-efficient technology, it is clear that there’s no path Toyota won’t take. In fact, their new, hydrogen-fuel-powered Toyota Mirai vehicles can even be powered by – believe it or not – human waste.

The automaker is utilizing a wastewater processing plant in Fukuoka Japan to turn what was originally human waste into pure hydrogen, which is one of the cleanest ways to fuel cars. Hydrogen-powered cars do not even produce greenhouse gases.

In the United States today, there are about 30 different hydrogen-fueling stations available across the country, most of which are concentrated in New York and Los Angeles. But if there is one thing that all Americans truly have in common, it’s their ability to produce waste.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like there are currently any plans to turn human waste into fuel for Toyota Mirai cars in the United States, but that could change. What other resource is so plentiful? It just makes logical sense to turn waste into energy whenever possible.

FR-S becomes the Toyota 86

In 2003, Toyota introduced the world to a new brand of car—Scion. The Scion brand was built on simplicity mixed with fun. Models were usually sold in a single trim level, but could be easily customized with aftermarket parts. However, after 13 years, Toyota decided to absorb Scion back into the Toyota brand.

Now, one of the most popular Scion models is making the transition to Toyota. The Scion FR-S will become the Toyota 86 for the 2017 model year. But, it gets more than just a name change. The 86 will have new looks and better performance, but will keep the handling and affordability that has made it a hit with enthusiasts over the years.

Changes for the model

In the form of the Toyota 86, we will see more aggressive styling with a large center intake. The front end also comes with standard LED headlights, daytime running lights, and turn signals. Inside, buyers will find new seating material, a revised steering wheel, and a new “Granlux” material on the instrument panel.

Better performance for the 86 comes through revised shock tuning and a spring rate change. The manual version also has adjusted gear ratios and engine tuning to increase the torque to 156 lb-ft and horsepower to 205.

Here at Hurlbert Toyota, we are excited to welcome the 2017 Toyota 86 to our family.

As one of the top-selling brands in the world, Toyota has a number of vehicles that not only appeal to mainstream drivers, but niche enthusiasts, as well. Several Toyota nameplates have been optimized in some trims for off-roading prowess. The latest vehicle to join the off-roading fray is none other than the new Toyota 4Runner. The addition of two 4Runner off-road trims adds extra performance and capability to this rugged SUV unlike anything drivers have experienced.

4Runner Trims

The two trims in question will be called the TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium. The new 4Runner trim levels will slot just below the Limited model and replace previous model years’ Trail trims. This 4Runner features everything from fancy TRD badges to new four-wheel drive technology that’s been tweaked for off-road capabilities. Aside from the new badges, other cosmetic touches will include silver wheels, black accents, and carbon-fiber-look trim in the cabin. The TRD Off-Road Premium trim will feature red lettering stitched into the head restraints.

Other features on the 4Runner off-road trims will include Toyota’s Crawl Control system, a locking rear differential. Also, there will be an available Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System for improving off-road wheel articulation. Pricing isn’t yet announced for the new models, but will join the 2017 Toyota 4Runner lineup. Visit our website for all of our new and used inventory. There’s no denying that the minivan is the ultimate family hauler, but if you’re looking for the best minivan for your family, take a good look at the Toyota Sienna. Edmunds.com and Parents Magazine recently named the Toyota Sienna as one of the 10 best family cars of the year. The Sienna was also named 2016 Best Minivan.

2016 Toyota Sienna - 2016 best minivan

2016 Toyota Sienna Overview

“The endlessly roomy Sienna stands above its competitors for two reasons: It’s the only one with available all-wheel drive, and the especially user-friendly controls help you stay focused on the road,” Parents Magazine writes.

In addition to its class-exclusive available all-wheel drive, the Sienna will impress you with its available Driver Easy Speak. This reduces the need for drivers to shout all the way to the backseat. There is a microphone located near the driver that conveys the driver’s voice through the speakers in the back.

Another great family friendly feature is the Dual-View Entertainment Center. The 16.4-inch widescreen display can simultaneously display two videos. It is compatible with Blu-Ray and comes with an HDMI input and an SD card reader. The screen can be operated from any seat in the Sienna by using the remote control. It also comes with a pair of wireless headphones.

Test drive the 2016 Toyota Sienna today at Hurlbert Toyota to see if it is the perfect fit for your family.
