2020 Toyota Supra
2020 Toyota Supra

For years and years, folks have been asking when Toyota will bring back the legendary Supra performance car. If you’re among those who have been waiting with baited breath, wait no more: the 2020 Toyota Supra is coming, and it’s bringing 335 horsepower with it.

The new Supra is not for the faint at heart. It will feature the B58 turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine from BMW, which churns out 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. Paired to this ferocious engine will be a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, providing smooth response and superior performance efficiency. It’s expected that this combination will deliver a 0-60 mph time of just 4.1 seconds, making it the quickest Toyota-brand production vehicle ever built.

From front to back, the new 2020 Toyota Supra bespeaks high-end style and performance. It features standard 19-inch wheels, Michelin® Pilot® Super Sport summer tires, and adaptive dampers. Not to sacrifice form or function, the exterior is beautifully sculpted for optimized efficiency. The interior offers a driver-centric experience with controls intuitively laid out across the dash, including a large infotainment system with smartphone integration technology. To make your driving experience even more confidence-inspiring, the Supra offers a range of Toyota’s state-of-the-art active safety features.

As the senior vice president of Toyota operations stated, “When you boil it all down, the Supra delivers a certain level of excitement to the brand that you can’t bring with trucks and hybrids.” We couldn’t be more excited for the new Supra, and we think you should be too.

The new Supra is expected to arrive at Hurlbert Toyota this summer with a starting MSRP of $49,990. Give us a call or stop in to learn how you can be the first on your block to own one.

The new 2019 Toyota Prius is taking the idea of going place to another level. The debut of the 2019 Toyota Prius AWD-e system means that the world’s favorite hybrid vehicle is now capable of delivering better traction on slick roads and can even tackle off-road driving needs with deftness and skill.

The Toyota Prius AWD-e system debuted in November at the L.A. Auto Show, where it was announced that it will be the most fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive passenger var in the United States with an EPA-estimated 52 mpg in the city, 48 mpg on the highway, and 50 mpg combined. AWD-e will use a Toyota-first independent electric, magnet-less rear motor that eliminates the need for a front-to-rear driveshaft — when you need traction for the rear wheels between 0-6 mph and up to 43 mph, it kicks in automatically.

2019 Toyota Prius models equipped with AWD-e will feature distinct foglamps and a new LED accent lamp, and it will be available for the Prius LE and XLE, both of which will feature new two-tone 15-inch alloy wheels. It will offer up to 62.7 cubic feet of cargo space thanks to its 60:40 split rear seatbacks, and Genuine Toyota Accessory cargo crossbars make it the perfect adventure vehicle for biking, snowboarding, or kayaking.

Expect to see the exciting new 2019 Toyota Prius AWD-e system in action at Hurlbert Toyota.

2019 Toyota Avalon

With the crossover market on the rise and young families flocking to small SUVs, large sedans have been taking a hit. In response, Toyota unveiled the completely redesigned Avalon. A recent study showed that owners of the current generation of the Toyota Avalon have a median age of 66, and while age is just a number, automakers are concerned about making their vehicles appealing to all ages and establishing a new consumer base among young professionals.

Toyota is changing all of that with the 2019 Toyota Avalon. The redesign is obvious as soon as you see its lower, wider stance. It also comes with new performance options like a smooth, more powerful V6 engine, an adaptive variable suspension, and four different drive modes. There are even hybrid powertrain options on the lower three trim levels for more fuel-conscious drivers. The range-topping Touring trim offers even more sporty features, up to and including a fifth, more athletic Sport+ drive mode for owners who want an extra thrill.

The Toyota Avalon redesign doesn’t mean Toyota’s forgotten about its older audience, either. The more sporty, attractive 2019 Avalon design is also a way to say thank you to its loyal customers.

The 2019 Toyota Avalon will arrive in dealerships later this spring. To learn more, stop by Hurlbert Toyota or give us a call.

Toyota Supra Spy Shots

Toyota Spy Shots

Enthusiasts everywhere have been chomping at the bit to get their hands on the brand-new, upcoming Toyota Supra, the result of a partnership between Toyota and famed performance brand BMW. However, until now, information has been limited, with only foggy glimpses of camouflaged test cars giving fans and experts alike a closer look at the vehicle. However, recent Toyota Supra spy shots have given enthusiasts their clearest and most comprehensive look at the revived nameplate yet.

A photographer over at AutoBlog managed to nab a shot of the still camouflaged, but much more visible Supra parked at a fueling station. Design elements easily seen in the photos include a clamshell hood with two large air intakes on a smooth, pointed grille. Most of the design is exclusive to the Supra as well, though styling cues have been taken from the Z5. Experts speculate that the hood is hiding a six-cylinder turbocharged engine.

It’s likely that some elements of the Supra’s design as depicted in the Toyota Supra spy shots will be smoothed out and changed before it comes out for the 2019 model year, but this is the latest that we know at the moment.

Make sure you head to Hurlbert Toyota to get your hands on it as soon as it comes out!

For many car shoppers, safety is a top priority. And, with so much advanced technology, cars are safer than ever. That is why the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) scores individual models on numerous safety attributes to help discerning shopper find the best of the best.

The IIHS has two levels of safety awards: Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+. To earn the Top Safety Pick accolade, a vehicle has to achieve the top Good rating in all crash tests. In addition, it has to earn an Advanced or Superior rating for front crash prevention technology.

Toyota’s Top Safety Picks this year include the Toyota Yaris iA and Avalon.

To earn a Top Safety Pick+ rating, a vehicle also has to achieve a Good or Acceptable rating for its headlights. This year, Toyota brought home five Top Safety Pick+ honors. These models include the Toyota Prius v, Camry, RAV4, Prius, and Corolla.

Ever since the IIHS introduced its Top Safety Pick awards in 2006, Toyota has worked hard to make sure as many of its models are eligible for this award as it can. The Top Safety Pick+ designation was introduced in 2013 to give the best of the best their own category.

Come check out all of these excellent and safe Toyota models today at Hurlbert Toyota.
