2015 CamryBy this stage in the game, it should come as little surprise that Toyota offers better value than any other brand on the block. Because we are a society that demands near-constant reaffirmation, Consumer Reports has stepped in to remind everyone that nobody does it quite as well as Toyota, honoring a number of vehicles in the current lineup in its 2014 Annual New Car Value Rankings.

Top among all vehicles was the 2015 Camry Hyrbid, which offers a profoundly satisfying combination of performance and efficiency and operates at an assumed cost of around 52 cents per mile—the lowest of any vehicle CR tested in 2014.

Third on the overall list was the standard Camry, confirming the namebadge as the absolute best overall value in automotive today, hybrid or non.

Speaking of hybrids, the Toyota Prius Four took the top ranking in the compact segment, which is almost a foregone conclusion when one considers the Prius’ status as hybrid innovator.

Rounding out the list for Toyota was the Highlander XLE, which was named the best value among midsized SUVs.

To see just what it is about Toyota cars and trucks that give you the most bang for your buck, stop in and test drive the vehicle of your choice today at Hurlbert Toyota.

2013 Toyota Prius

2013 Toyota Prius

The Toyota Prius is one of the most popular cars on the market thanks to its superior fuel efficiency and terrific features. Now, this hybrid might get even better. The rumor mill has been turning lately, and there is talk of the newest Prius being offered in two different editions, one of which will offer better fuel efficiency than any Prius we have seen so far.

The high mpg Prius Eco Edition, which will be the fourth-generation Prius’s alter ego, will come with a lithium-ion battery that will be rated more than 60 miles per gallon, according to a report from Automotive News. For the non-Eco Edition Prius, a standard nickel-metal hydride battery pack will come standard, boasting about 55 mpg. While the report of two different Toyota Prius versions has not been confirmed by the Japanese carmaker itself, it’s difficult not to be excited about a Prius model that is even more fuel-efficient than before.

For more information on the future of the Toyota Prius, make sure you continue to check back in with Hurlbert Toyota!

2014 Toyota Prius c

The cities of New England have been around long before cars, so the streets are skinny and the parking spaces are hard to come by. That doesn’t mean that getting around has to be a challenge! The 2014 Toyota Prius c hybrid was built for streets like this, and is great at saving you money on gas while keeping the city air cleaner.

With an impressive 53 city mpg* and subcompact construction, it’s right at home on city streets. Even though it may look small, it has plenty of room for passengers or cargo thanks to 60/40 folding rear seats that open up the already impressive 17.1 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the rear seats. With the hatchback door, accessing that cargo is convenient and easy, even in tight spaces.

Take your eco-friendliness and gas savings to the next level in the city by using the EV mode, which allows the Prius c to run solely on battery power.

Being small doesn’t mean it isn’t tough. The Prius c, like all Toyota vehicles, comes with the Star Safety System. That means that every Prius c comes with advanced anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, vehicle stability control, brake assist, and smart stop technology. You and your passengers are protected by nine airbags on the front and sides of the interior as well.

Test drive the 2014 Prius c at Hurlbert Toyota to experience how saving gas can be fun and convenient.

2013 Toyota Prius

Takeshi Uchiyamada, Toyota’s Chairman, is known as the grandfather of the Prius. In a recent interview with Automotive News Europe, he predicted a substantial growth of the hybrid market. “I foresee hybrid models pretty soon reaching 20 percent of global sales from about 13 percent to 14 percent now.”

More than 20 years ago, this number seemed unattainable. In 1993, Uchiyamada was put in charge of a Toyota research group called Project G21. They proposed a car that would achieve one and half times the fuel economy of current cars, but top management rejected that and told the team to “Double it,” Uchiyamada said. Now he says he knows the team achieved their mission.

The U.S. is the most successful market for the Toyota Prius and the Prius alone claims about 60 percent of the hybrid market here in the States.

Here at Hurlbert Toyota we love the Prius and how it has been leader in the hybrid market all over the world. If you want to take the plunge and see how much gasoline you can save, come test drive a Toyota Prius today.

2013 Toyota Prius v

The Toyota Prius v continues to offer top safety scores, value, and fuel economy in 2014.

Toyota’s Prius, the original groundbreaking hybrid, now comes in a whole slew of models. Toyota has been expanding the Prii family, aiming to make a hybrid available to every possible group. The big brother of the Prius family, the Prius v, brings the hybrid vehicle—usually a rather small enterprise—into the family car arena. According to a Toyota press release, the “v” stands for versatility, but here at Hulbert Toyota Scion, we’d like to think it also stands for family “values.”
