Car Detailing Tips

The hard reality of proud car ownership is that the showroom shine can be hard to keep on your car. Luckily, the new car sparkle is not impossible to regain. Detailing your car — the process of carefully washing, waxing, and polishing — is a great activity to do right at home that can keep your car looking as impressive as the day you first brought it home. To get the most out of your detailing efforts, make sure to follow these tips for detailing your car.

Cloth vs Sponge

When it comes to washing and drying, the old-fashioned sponge is out and the new-age cloth is in. Not only do soft, microfiber cloths make washing and especially drying your car easier, they also they reduce the risk of scratching when drying and leaving streaks on your car. Get a couple, and make sure to keep your washing and drying cloth separate.

Invest In a Power Buffer

A power buffer takes polishing your car to the next level, and there is perhaps no better way to truly see the results of your efforts than to use one. Make sure you’re using it properly for the best results — apply wax evenly with the power buffer, but remove it with a cloth. This will avoid streaking or even burning the paint with the machine.

Another way to keep your ride like new is to invest in preventative maintenance. Schedule service at Hurlbert Toyota in Epping, New Hampshire, today!

August is here, but that doesn’t mean you have to waste the rest of your summer. Take one last day trip to the beach and embark on a adventure to Appledore Island, just a half hour outside of Epping. Located among the Isles of Shoals off the coast of Maine and New Hampshire, Appledore Island walking tours continue throughout August and welcome guests aboard a ferry out to the beauty of this idyllic island.

Appledore Island

What do the tours include?

The tour departs from the UNH Pier at 10:00 AM on any of the chosen dates (make sure to register in advance, however, as tickets are selling fast). Children must be at least 10 to come along, with ticket prices coming out to $50 per adult and $40 per child.
